Castle Key (Allstate) covered my 20+ year old roof 100% when there was a lot of damage due to wind. The process was so simple and painless. I was able to choose my own roofing contractor. Allstate sent me funds electronically to pay for the new roof. As the roofer was working, we found out it was going to cost an additional $3,000 to replace the roof, the roofing company submitted the paperwork, everything was approved and the additional funds were released to me. As a single woman who knows next to nothing about roofs and roof repairs, I was pleasantly surprised by how easy everything was.

I had to file a water damage claim. The process was not well explained prior to claiming, but once I made the claim, I felt like it was handled in a quick manner, and that my agent was involved in helping get my claim settled.

They bait you with a low rate at first, and then the following year will slap you with a 33% increase. If the agent is from AllState then they will not give you any other choices to pick from when it’s time to renew. All they do is try to get you to take less coverage for a more reasonable price. If you want to keep the current coverage you have for a more reasonable price then you’re out of luck. Go get a policy from an agent that offers multiple companies and you’ll benefit from price-competition.
