How to Submit Risks Through Wholesale Access

Wholesale access lets you submit eligible risks through Agency Height’s wholesale relationships without holding a direct appointment with the underlying carrier. You can submit multiple coverage lines in one flow, while our underwriting team works available wholesale markets and you earn commission on business that binds.

Agency Height keeps the submission, underwriting communication, and status tracking in one platform, making it easier to manage each risk.

This guide shows you how to submit and track a wholesale risk in Agency Height.

Start a New Wholesale Submission

If you already have a risk ready for underwriting review, you can begin directly from Submissions. This gives you a straightforward way to move the account into the wholesale submission workflow.

1. Log in to your Agency Height account.

2. Open Submissions from the dashboard.

3. Select New submission.

4. Select an existing client account or add a new one.

The submission then moves through four stages: Account Selection → Coverages → Documents → Review and Submit.

Before you submit a risk: Make sure your compliance is verified. Provide the required E&O, W-9, license, and NPN information beforehand. If needed, follow our guide on completing compliance verification for carrier access.

Start a Wholesale Submission from Markets

You can also begin a wholesale submission while reviewing carriers in Markets. For wholesale access, look for a carrier card with Request Quotes. The card will indicate that the risk is submitted through wholesale and no direct carrier appointment is required.

  • Select Request Quotes to enter the same wholesale submission workflow.

Important: Starting from a carrier does not mean the risk will necessarily be placed with that specific carrier. Once submitted, underwriting reviews the account and works available wholesale relationships for placement.

Select or Create a Client Account

Every wholesale submission is tied to an account in Agency Height. Accounts is your CRM for managing prospects and clients, including their opportunities, quotes, policies, documents, and account details.

1. Search for and select the existing client account from Account selection.

2. If the client is not listed, select Add new account.

3. Choose how you want to create the account: upload a supported document to prefill available details, or enter the information manually.

  • Upload a document: add a declaration page, application or ACORD form, prior policy or quote, or another supported file. Agency Height extracts available client and business details and prefills the account.
  • Enter manually: choose Personal, Commercial, or Life and complete the required client or business information yourself.

Commercial accounts typically ask for more business information, such as business classification, contact details, business name, and other operating details, while Personal and Life accounts request the information relevant to those account types.

4. Add the account. Once it is created or selected, Agency Height carries that client record into the submission so you can continue to the coverage step.

Add Coverages and Risk Details

The Coverages step defines what you are submitting and collects the underwriting details needed to review the risk.

1. Select every coverage needed for the submission. You can add more than one coverage when the risk requires it.

2. For each coverage, enter the requested submission details, including the effective date and target premium.

3. Answer the Quick Underwriting Questions. These may ask about:

  • Recent losses or claims
  • Any lapse, decline, cancellation, or non-renewal.
  • Your answers can trigger additional follow-up questions.

Provide complete and accurate information so underwriting has enough context to evaluate the account.

Upload Required Documents

Document requirements can vary significantly by coverage, and commercial submissions often require more supporting documents than personal submissions.

1. Review the Required Documents list for each selected coverage.

2. Upload every required item shown before continuing. Depending on the risk, common examples can include:

  • ACORD forms
  • Loss runs
  • Declaration pages
  • Prior carrier
  • Premium history.

When you upload a file, select the correct document tag so it is matched to the submission requirement. You can upload multiple PDF or DOC files, add an optional note for each document, and then select Save documents.

Need to finish later? Use Save and exit. The unfinished application remains available as a Draft in Submissions until you return and submit it.

Review and Submit the Risk

Review the complete application before sending it to underwriting. You can return to any section to correct information before you submit.

1. Complete the required Note for Underwriter with context that helps explain the risk.

2. Review the Account, Coverages & Submission, Underwriting Questions, and Documents sections.

3. Use Edit or Back if anything needs to be corrected.

4. Select Submit when the application is complete.

What Happens After You Submit

After submission, the application receives a Submission ID and moves to underwriting for review. The confirmation screen summarizes the account, submission date, coverage, and documents and gives you a path back to the submission queue.

Track Your Submissions in One Place

Go to Submissions to follow wholesale activity and see where attention is needed. The dashboard gives you a quick view of active submissions, cases needing information, risks awaiting bind, and bound premium for the displayed period.

  • Submitted: the application has been sent to underwriting for review.
  • Info needed: the underwriter is waiting for additional information or a reply from you.
  • Draft: the application was saved but has not been submitted yet.

If Info needed appears, open the submission and respond with the requested information so underwriting can continue.

Keep Your Submissions Moving

Complete client information, underwriting details, and supporting documents give the underwriting team what it needs to evaluate the risk and work available markets efficiently. Once a risk is submitted, keep an eye on Submissions for status changes or information requests from underwriting.

For the next risk, start directly from Submissions. If you are already reviewing carriers in Markets, you can enter the same wholesale workflow from there as well.
